Floor Sanding & Refinishing

The most important part of your house is the floors, they are the largest design surface of your room and are usually the first to reflect wear and tear, but is easy to give new life to your flooring with what is called “Refinishing”

Having your hardwood floors refinished is the best way of increasing the value of your home while simultaneously beautifying your space with a touch of class.

The process of Refinishing your hardwood floor is done by our craftsmen that are skilled and experienced and basicly this is what refinishing consist of:

We sand all the finish of the existing floor and remove approximately 1/32″ of wood that will remove any scratch.Floors are then coated with polyurethane, most 3/4″ hardwood floors can be sanded up to six times, as long as done by professionals .You can choose the finish of your choice, there is water based polyurethane and Oil based polyurethane, we usually recommend oil based over water based because It looks better, It lasts longer, It costs less. Water based in the other hand: dries faster, doesn’t smell as bad, is better for the environment

You can also choose to have your hardwood floors stain before the varnish is applied, that will be giving a different color to your wood, but not all woods can take stain, we will always give you a professional advice.

Hardwood Floor Stain colors.

There are many varieties of stain ,each floor takes the stain differently, so after our crew sand an area on your house we can apply samples of the colors to show on your own floor how is truly going to look like, in our experience we have found that this is the best way to choose stain colors.

With unfinished wood flooring we will install, sand the wood and apply the finish, in the other hand factory-finished wood flooring, will require less time because the sanding and finishing process has already happened.

– Making sure all joints are installed properly. This will help minimize the risk of cracking and give your floor the attractive presentation it deserves.
